I know, I know

I just haven't had anything big happening around here. I've been busy as a bee getting ready for Girls camp this next week. We just haven't done much.

We did get to go out with my parents on the boat last weekend though. I didn't take any pictures within the 20 minutes we were on the lake. Long story, but the good news is, we made it back to shore safely (we didn't sink)! So, we headed back to their house and did the slip-n-slide instead. This was the kids first time on one. Mommy and Daddy even did it! Hey, Did you know that slip-n-slides are; "Not for Adult Use?" That silly mark on the slide was ignored and we had fun, until the next morning. Mommy couldn't laugh, or cough, or sneeze. My stomach is not the 20 year old stomach I hoped it would still be. It hurt!

Oh, and my dad just mowed the lawn so there were grass clippings EVERYWHERE! Check Gavin out...

Gavin was cheering Brooklyn on and even trying to get Brian and I to try it again. He's talking so much now. Watch Brooklyn and her pose! Keep watching, because she will do it again in the middle of walking away. It's hilarious on repeat!

Mall of America

Brian took one more day off after his parents left last week so we could spend the day doing nothing. We decided however, to go the Minnesota Zoo. We had some passes that we had to use before they expired. I didn't take any pictures there (believe it or not). When we were ready to leave, we realized it would be rush hour, so we decided to stop by Mall of America to waste a few hours before going home. Here are some cute shots of Brooklyn on some rides at Nickelodeon Universe. Gavin also rode the Blue's Clues ride, but I was with him and sorry to say, I couldn't approve of any of the pictures. He loved it though!

We didn't know any of the other kids on this ride. Brooklyn is in the middle (obviously).

Here she is on Magenta from Blue's Clues. Heaven for bid she ride on Blue.

This is how excited Gavin was everytime Brooklyn came back around on the ride. He would look for her and scream when he saw her. So cute!

Busy as a Bee

I can't even give you a reason why I haven't updated my blog. I have been totally out of it. Besides being completely lazy, I have been going non stop for a week and a half. I could look at my calendar and tell you what I've been doing, but then I'd have to actually stand up and go get it. Don't wanna!
Gavin has grown into a great stage right now. He repeats everything so well. He want's to do everything that Brooklyn does. He's like a little man now. I think my little baby boy is growing up. He will, however, still cuddle with mommy like a baby. I guess I should be the one to grow out of that, right?!

One sweet little thing we had to do the other day was say "goodbye" to a boy that Gavin absolutely adored, Casey! He moved away and I know Gavin sensed it. Ever since last summer (Gavin and Brooklyn stayed with his family while I was at Camp), Gavin became a fan of Casey. He would see him a few rows back in church and get so excited and yell "HEY CASEY" He just loved him so much. We will really miss the Shaffer family! Here are a couple shots saying goodbye...

Grandpa's Boy

Well, I must say that Gavin is definetely a Grandpa's Boy. Not only is he crazy about my dad, but when Grandpa Head came, he wouldn't leave him alone. He was so excited to be with him. He would just want to sit by him, show him things, and talk to him non stop. This is something completely new to Grandpa. I think most of his Grandkids are more magnets toward Grandma and their parents. Grandpa couldn't even take a nap on the couch with out Gavin running towards him and landing on him to startle him. Sorry about that Grant!

A quick post

Well, since I finally have access to the computer, I thought I would send a quick update.

Brian's parents are here with us this week and we have been having a great time. I think we all look forward to going to bed at night to get our rest. We have been on the go, go, go since Tuesday. Today is no exception. We're off to Mall of America!

Here are some pictures:

We went to my parents house for dinner last night and Brooklyn got to show Grandma and Grandpa Head what a great piano player she is...

"Ode to Joy"

I'll post more of our adventures on Sunday!

Our 4th of July

We had a wonderful Fourth of July. We had a nice relaxing morning, then went to my parents house for their "4th Party" It was lots of fun and the kids had a blast.

I'll post pictures later. For some reason, I didn't get a lot with my camera, so I'm waiting for my mom to give me hers.

So, this video is of Kendyl (my neice) and Gavin going down the slide at my parents. This slide is so fast, and no kid has ever gotten down it on their feet. It's actually really funny to watch!

Good Friends

My best friend from my childhood, Mali came home to Minnesota for a visit this week. I get so excited when I get to see her. She lives in Idaho now and has four children. We met at a park and had a picnic today with our friend Lanna and Mali's sister Mya. Our kids all played while we got to catch up on friends and acquaintences we knew growing up. I love being around Mali. She always makes me happy and it reminds me of our memories together. I feel very fortunate to have had a friend like Mali in my youth. She was a great example for me and I often times found myself saying "what would Mali do?" We were stuck together like glue on paper. I'm so happy to know that the Gospel brought us together as friends and through the knowledge that we have, I know we'll be friends forever! Thank you for so many wonderful memories Mali! I love you.

(I'm holding Lanna's baby "Ava" - It's not mine!)

Brooklyn said Whhhaaaatttt?

So, my sweet, adorable, loving, precious daughter is starting to get a little A*T*T*I*T*U*D*E!

I was leaving for Young Women's last night and was kissing her goodnight, she said she didn't want me to go and I told her:

"Brooklyn, Mommy has a life too ya know!"

She said:

"Well, I don't like mommies life!"

I don't think she realized how that sounded, but it caught me off guard. The funny thing is, I remember saying that to my mom all the time too (about not wanting her to go). I guess it was only a matter of time before I experienced the same situation.

I just can't get enough...

I just can't get enough of my Gavin. I love little boys. He just keeps me alert all day. We went outside for a little while today waiting for Daddy to get home (it was way hot out there, so we wanted to stay in the cool house most of the day). It never surprises me how he can keep himself entertained. I watered my flowers and the hose leaked some water down the driveway. About 10 minutes later, most of the water was gone, so I thought. Gavin managed to find what little water was left and had a hay day! Sweet little guy doesn't go anywhere without cars in his hand.
Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful Boy!
