What is it that boys do?

Brian got up with the kids on Saturday morning, so I could sleep in a little. This is what Gavin looked like when Brian went to get him up. We don't even know how this kid was able to get his shirt back on. What exactly does he do in his sleep?????

Our Stake Dance Festival

The youth in our stake put on a "Dancing with the Stars" Cultural Event this last Saturday. As a youth leader, I was able to attend during the day and watch them learn the dances. That evening our family went to watch. It was so fun. Brooklyn loved it and wanted to dance with them so bad. Luckily, they came and got the kids participation during one song. Brooklyn danced and danced. Here is a video; Brooklyn is the one in orange shirt and kahki pants.

Wisconsin Dells

Last Thursday and Friday we went to Wisconsin Dells with the Thompson's. We had a blast. We stayed at the Kalahari Resort and Water park. The kids were great, and it was a very impressive hotel. We wish we could have stayed longer, but the kids definitely were exhausted by the end of day two and we were ready to get them home. The nice thing about this water park was that the kids could go on the big water slides as long as they were with an adult. We took both Gavin and Brooklyn on the big ones. They LOVED them. Gavin laughed hysterically. Brooklyn and mommy even went on a uphill water slide roller coaster. We both decided half way through the ride, we did not like it. It was a little scary, But we did it. I'm so proud of her. Here are a couple pictures that I took. I am so mad that I didn't get any pictures of our families together, let alone any of Quinn and Garrett with Brooklyn and Gavin. I guess I'll remember that for next year!

Here are the kids in front of a jungle setting, too bad you can't see it.

Brooklyn at the bottom of just one of the 8 slides she went down.

Here is a baby lion looking in a mirror at another WILD baby lion!
We also got to see a baby kangaroo! They were the cutest little guys

Just before we headed home we got the kids chocolate suckers. Looking back now, It was not a good idea, they didn't fall asleep in the car until 3 hours into the drive back.
All in all, we had a great trip. This will count as our summer vacation, due to the high gas prices and airplane tickets these days. Here is a little video of Brian with the kids on the lazy river! Notice the quarter size red bump on Gavin's forehead. He ran into another little boy on a slide who was just sitting at the end of it not getting off. Little Gavin has no patience so he went head first down the slide into the other little boys head. The other kid was probably 5 and cried harder than Gavin, but had nothing to show for it. All is well.

What sets off a 5 year old?

As most of you know, Brooklyn is very sensitive. Somedays we feel we are walking on egg shells. On Sunday, we were getting ready for church and she popped a balloon and was devistated. Just a simple everyday balloon. Not one from a any party or school or doctor or Dumbo the Clown himself, just a pink balloon we found in her junk drawer. Blew it up and played with it for about 10 minutes. She wanted to blame it on someone so bad, but nobody was around when it popped, so she just cried. Now, Gavin is the strong one. He has a little tender heart that breaks along with you, but tries to be the big person and let you know it will be okay. I didn't get to my camera as fast as I would have like to, but here is Gavin doing what he knows best when Brooklyn is hurt. ENJOY!

One of these things in not like the other!

I couldn't help it. I laughed the other day as we were leaving play group at the church. Someday we plan on upgrading, but for now, my good little Honda treats us so good! I love her.

No Excuses

I have only one excuse why I haven't posted any new info from our family... One word: TWILIGHT. two words: NEW MOON. Uggghhhh, I can't stop reading, and I promise I will post some pictures and updates in the next day or so.

So, Michelle (my sister in law), gave all of the girls in the family Twilight for Christmas. I had heard about it, but just have been pushing it off because, well, I'm not a reader. Lots of friends and girls in my ward have talked about it and I've usually had to walk away from their conversations not understanding what their talking about. My mom even read it. I finally caved a few days ago and opened the book. 48 hours later, I was done reading it and a new me! Brian just didn't understand. I don't expect him to, but my poor friend Amy has been getting a lot of phone calls from me lately needing to talk about it. Bless her heart for putting up with it.

This makes it 2 books now, that I have absolutely loved because of my Sister-in-law Michelle. (The other: The Goose Girl by Shannon Hales) Thanks Michelle, I love ya!

So, like I said, I'll post more updates in a little while. Love and kisses, Mia

April At Last

Well, Happy April everyone. I'm so glad it's here, however Spring is taking it's time showing itself. I am so ready to be outside. We're pretty busy, but the kids are screaming to get outside more.

April Fools day came and went this year, but not without some pretty cruel jokes. I look forward to it every year. I prepare myself the night before, and it's the first thing in my head when I wake up. Brian, however, has decided he does not like April Fools Day. There's just no need for it, he says. It probably had to do with the message I left on his work phone that morning and didn't say April Fools, until his next message. I think his heart skipped a beat or two. I can't tell you what it was, incase someone is reading this, I wouldn't want them to know they were part of my evil plan. You all know how it is, right?!

I did however, get my mom pretty bad. She was planning on taking Brooklyn overnight that night, so I called her and told her I had good news and bad news and that I needed to tell her myself so she wouldn't hear it from Brooklyn tonight. The good news was Brian got a promotion, the bad news... I didn't even need to say it, she said, "NO, where are you moving?" I told her to Bucktown, Nebraska (I made it up). She asked where that is, I told her that Brian's company is building a new headquarters more centralized and wants him to manage a department. She kept on asking where that is. "It's probably in the middle of nowhere" she said. I told her she's right, because "April Fools!" She was not happy and hung up on me. After a good laugh, she called back. All is good.

Here is some pictures of Brooklyn trying to be a cowgirl. The hat was Gavin's Halloween costume and it does not fit her head at all. It doesn't even fit his head. Cute though!
