MAY

I'm sitting here looking at my calendar and trying to decide how to post all these events in our lives. They aren't events that most of you want to hear about, I'm sure. Some Doctor visits, Book groups, Church meetings, Piano lessons, Volunteering at school, etc. I guess you didn't miss to much. I'll pick and choose a few. Let's start with May

WHEN I WAS LITTLE

I had to take pictures of her doing this...

I used to do the same thing when I was little. A blanket in the middle of the yard with my Barbies (or Cabbage Patch Dolls). Good times, good times.

MEMORIAL WEEKEND

Every year on the Friday before Memorial Day, My mom and I (and the kids) go up to Sauk Centre to put flowers on Nana and Bumpa's grave. This year, my mom was out of town, so I had the privelage to go plant them. Brian took the day off of work and we all took a nice 1 1/2 hour drive up north to the cemetary.

Our tradition is to stop at the McDonalds to use the restroom before we go further into town. We head to the cemetary, clean off the headstone and Bumpa's footstone as well as. Plant the flowers. Then head to Little Sauk to visit my Great Grandma Johnson's grave. Along the way we like to look at the houses and churches that both Nana and Bumpa grew up in and around. We like to stop at one of the local parks for the kids to run around and get their energy out. There is an Amphitheatre there that they like to play on too. My mom also has an Aunt that still lives up there and we try to stop in and visit for a little while. Afterwards, we take one more stop back to the cemetary before we head home. We take a little detour into St. Cloud to have lunch and then visit our favorite Craft store; Crafts Direct. All in all it tends to be a fun, laid back day.

Here are a couple pictures from our day.

This was my mom's sister that passed away a few months after birth.

Okay, check out this video. First of all, we all know how energetic Gavin is. He's a boy and boys are crazy. But, listen to what he says as soon as Brooklyn starts singing. Can you guess his favorite show???

IZZO KIDS

I got to watch all 4 of the Izzo kids Memorial weekend too. Just for a couple hours, but it was fun and the kids love getting together.

Little Nolan is getting so big. He was 3 months in this picture. He is such a happy baby. So mellow too!

THE FIRST BIG FALL

Well at the end of last summer Brooklyn finally learned how to ride her bike without training wheels. She was excited and ready to start up again this spring. Well, on May 2, 2009 the world (the bike really) came tumbling down around Brooklyn. She fell, and it hurt. She was NOT getting back on that bike ever again. Mom should just go ahead and throw it away. Well, after a little TLC and a picture, 20 minutes later she was back on it. Good to go.

She's my little sooper trooper!

UP

I took Brooklyn and her friend Jennie to see UP in 3D on the Saturday it came out. They were two happy little girls to say the least. A couple months ago when Jennie was over playing, we watch the trailer for Pixar's UP and we laughed and laughed. So, I told them I would bring them when it came out. They each got "Kid trays" with Popcorn, soda and a fruit snack, plus the candy we picked out from Target a few minutes before. I don't think either one of them had a lunch that day. This was the invitation we gave to Jennie for a reminder that we would be picking her "UP" at 10 a.m. that morning.
