I worked at the Scholastic Book Fair last week and earned book credit, so Brooklyn and I went to buy a whole bunch of books. She was really excited when she saw the Strawberry Shortcake Berry Yummy Cookbook that came with her own PINK measuring spoons! Her first item she made was Huckleberry Pie's Favorite Fudge. "His Fort is right by the River Fudge, and he loves to share this fudge with his friends!" She did it all on her own too.
Here is the so simple dimple recipe:
1 Cup Semisweet Chocolate Chips
1 Cup Milk Chocolate Chips
1 1/2 Cups Sweetened Condensed Milk
2 tsp. Vanilla
Line the bottom of an 8X8 pan with wax paper. In medium pot, combine the chocolate chips, and condensed milk over low heat until the chocolate chips are melted. Remove from heat. Stir in the vanilla. Spread the fudge into pan, chill in fridge until firm (4-5 hours). When done, remove from pan, peel off waxed paper, and cut fudge into 1x1 inch squares. ENJOY!

Sounds really good! I remember we had a Strawberry Shortcake cookbook when I was little and I loved it! So fun to have recipes she can make all by herself.
Funny how cartoon characters from the 80's are being resurrected now that we thirty-somethings are having our own kids! Kind of like New Kids on the Block. Did you see that they have reunited and have a new album out? Yes, I am a MAJOR DORK and bought the new single from itunes. Curiosity got the best of me. It's actually an OK song. ;-)
Tell Brooklyn her fudge looks yummy!
P.S. Ryan just told me that the word for the New Kids' new album is "unfortunate".
